Breathing Slowly

The most important thing in meditation is ‘Breathing’.Its the essence of meditation. Its through breathing that one have to start and its through breathing that one has to continue.
Wherever you are and whatever you are doing, close your eyes and take a deep breath. It should be a deep and a slow breath. While you take this slow breath, observe the breath closely. It would be hard at first to forget your current work, and concentrate on your breathing. But with practice you will become articulate in this technique. While you are taking and observing this deep and slow breath, clear your mind with all the thoughts that are existent and are coming into your mind.Purity of mind is the basis of meditation.During this inhale and exhale, not only should your mind be empty of thoughts, but you should also start hearing voices in the surroundings,of where you are and who are around you.You should immediately be in the realms of consciousness.
This consciousness would take time to come. But one should keep practicing it for perfection. No matter where you are,and what you are doing, this technique will help you in relaxing your mind, relieving stress and controlling your blood pressure, tension and anger.

Pathway to Wellness....

In the recent edition of the reader's digest, there is a small article which has the following abstract,

"Our brain controls so much of how we heal. Some say its the work of the 'vagus nerve',which runs from the brain to our abdomen, letting our brains communicate with the rest of our body. And the evidence is mounting that the more you practice mind-body techniques, the more powerful they become."

Mind and Body connection...

The mind is like a complex instrument.Very few people can understand the entire working and complexity of an instrument. But for the ones who do not know the insides of the machine,it would be a delicate thing to handle. The same is true for our brains. It is so hugely complex, that very few would have rather understood it.It is in fact considered as complex as our universe. But the few who have understood it,haven't done so with the genius of the medical world, but through the art and science of meditation. This means have been there and practiced through generations. It has been an instrument for the Gurus and the intellectuals who have gone onto the path of truth. But today,it has been widely accepted, both in the spiritual and the medical world, that the benefits of Meditation has been enormous. In fact, the technique of 'Pranayama' has been considered as one of the best means for healing some deseases, especially the mental ones. But you do not need to be a Yogic to follow these techniques.Just a bit of attention in your daily life can help you benefit your mind.Just being conscious would reduce the load on your brain considerably, thus reducing stress and work tensions. It would relax your muscles and slow down your pulse-rate,thus providing a better functioning for your heart, which indirectly would help a smoother fuctioning of the mind. One should note the cyclic process that is involved in this.Controlling the mind, controls the heart and the remaining parts of the body, which ensures a healthy brain. It is this cyclic process that has been recognised and endured by the gurus. One has to know the realms of mind and brain to know and understand the working of the rest of the body.It would come as a shock to the freshers in this area, but for the ones who are experienced, would ascertain me in this saying. So the mind and body connection has to be appreciated first to understand the technique of Meditation.I wish not to be a teacher, but a learner, for learning would be helping my teaching.Hence I would encourage other people to share their experiences with me and start a cyclic process of discovery of the 'Mind and Body' connection.

Conscious Meditation

Hello.
This blog I have created to share my experiences of meditation with as many people who want to know about it as possible. There are a lot of meditation techniques. This is one of the techniques.I haven't learned this through any books or classes. But through my personal experiences (through trial and error you can say). I have tried and found this technique to be very relaxing. And as the name would suggest, its all about being conscious. It also helps tremendously to relieve 'stress', 'blood pressure' and in the controlling one's anger. This techniques I would be sharing in my subsequent posts. Also I would be sharing some exercises which have been helpful to me. So be in touch with this blog.
